DIRECTV Adds Local HD in Two Markets

DIRECTV announced today the start of local HD broadcasting in two new markets, Wichita, Kansas and Paducah, Kentucky. Viewers in these markets can now see local news and weather, as well as prime time network broadcasts in HD.  Subscibers are required to have qualifying equipment and programming packages for local HD access.

The local HD channels available in the Wichita, Kansas area include:

-KAKE/ABC

-KWCH/CBS

-KSAS-FOX

Additional local HD will be added when available.

Local HD channels now available in the Paducah, Kentucky area are:

WSIL/ABC

KBSI/FOX

WPSD/NBC

KFVS/CBS

DIRECTV now offers local HD broadcasts in 76 cities representing  76% of U.S. households.
