I was curious as to how high the price of Sunday Ticket was this year... as I stopped purchasing it several years ago because of the sharp increase. WOW!!! $334.99. I'd only be using it to watch 10 of the Eagles 16 games.. That's $33.50 a game. As I have been doing since cancelling NFL Sunday Ticket... I'll be heading to a sports bar/restaurant to buy food and drink beer for less than the $33.50 DirecTv charges.

If the NFL and DirecTV were smart -- and they obviously aren't, they would recognize the concept of "loyalty" among sports fanatics. Loyal fans want to watch THEIR team, not the other 31 teams we root against. Make each franchise's 16 regular season games available online. Offer each franchise's 16 regular season games for $99 (in streaming HD, of course). Fans with Smart TVs would jump all over that-- the floodgates would open, and DirecTV would rake in cash hand over fist. No one truly needs satellite any more?

Hey DirecTV! Hey NFL! Are you paying attention?? We don't want to pay $350 for 200+ games over a season. We can't watch all those games anyway. We just want OUR team's 16 games. And we will gladly PAY for them. $99 for a 16-game season -- that's the sweet spot. Float it out there. Offer it as an option. Watch the tsunami of fans that respond. Instead of a few thousand fans paying $350, you'd get MILLIONS of fans (with Smart TVs) signing up at $99 a pop. Do the math. This isn't rocket science. You have the numbers on your side.

32 teams - a la carte purchasing -- $99 per team. Why are you blowing this??

This direct tv NFL package is a joke, who in their right mind can watch all these games at one time. Why doesn't direct TV have you order the games you want to watch I am a New york Giant Fan. No that wouldn't be profitable for the greedy direct tv network. These kind of so call deals are driving the true sports fan away from most sports in the United States.

Sounds like a party! I agree DirecTV had to stop charging extra for the Superfan with HD. There are all kinds of stories on message boards from those who call in year after year and threaten to cancel. By doing this usually they got $120 worth of credit on their bill or something else to compensate for the high cost of ST. I thought this was going to go away completely once they rolled HD into the Sunday Ticket package, but it looks like some long time customers are still getting some additional money off if they call in and ask to cancel Sunday Ticket. I guess its a matter of persistence in some cases as some call in and the service rep just goes ahead and cancels per their request!

2009 was the first year in 10yrs i didn't order Sunday Ticket due to job worries related to the economy. In the past i have always included Super Fan because i wanted HD games and to keep track of my fantasy players. I have always felt cheated because i pay the extra $9.99 for HD access and don't think i should have to pay $100 for ST games in HD.

Now in 2010 i am getting ST again. They have now rolled SF into the regular ST for $314 early bird which i think is great. This is cheaper than what i was paying from 2008 on back to when SF was offered. I also didn't buy a 42inch HD LCD TV to watch regular digital programming.

I have always compared the cost of ST to how much i would spend attending games or going to the sports bar. And since i do not miss any of my Cowboys games and nobody is going to convince me otherwise i personally find value in ST. From noon Sunday to 1am Monday it's all football, steaks, beer, and friends for me Sep - Feb. So i am getting my $ worth. (I no longer have a wife to bug me about this either LOL!).

I just looked and it has gone up again for the 2010 season. It is now 7 payments of 44.95. I have had the ticket for a long time but this has gone to far. I am not getting it this year because it is to expensive. I run a fantasy football league as well and it will suck not following my players but the money out weighs all.

I have been a DIRECTV customer since the first satellite was put in service (1994). I have always been very satisfied with the sevice and the customer service. Being from Philadelphia, and at the time, living in Missouri, NFL Sunday ticket was a Godsend. The first few years the price was more than reasonable. But like many others, I just wanted to see my Eagles games. Now, the price has gotten totally out of control and the greedy NFL is to blame for this. So I no longer subscribe to the NFL package, haven't for years. At least 4,5 sometimes 6 Eagle's games are on Monday night, Sunday night, or the second half of a double header. And sometimes their games are shown delayed on the NFL network. So screw the greed of the NFL.

I can tell you this. For all the gripping and complaining that we all do. The ONLY way that they are going to see the light about these extremely overpriced packages ,( Namely The NFL Sunday Ticket ) Is for us football fans to close our wallets and suck it up and watch local television. Or quit all together and go to a different provider.
I agree with all of you, these absorbanent prices have to quit. I will not pay for HD twice, it's not fair to us as subscribers and as football fans. It is almost cheaper to get season tickets. At least it would be in HD.
If we boycott the season. I guarantee the prices will go down in 11.
Good luck to all of you and I hope you all have a great upcoming football season. With out all the hidden charges.

I cannot justify sunday ticket anymore. especially with the way these players and owners are posturing over the billions of dollars they rake in every year. Now they are threatening to strike or lockout for the 2011 season! What a joke. I know directtv plays a part in enriching both sides so I think its high time to stop contributing to this mess

http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/getNFLback Would you reward a kid for stealing from your purse? Of course you wouldn't.Then why is the NFL rewarding Directv with exclussive rights? They lie , cheat , and steal. They charge you to lease their equipment , then charge you upto $5.99 to protect it against repairs. They will also make unauthorized charges to your credit/debit card. This is 100% accurate , google directv complainsts , it will blow your mind , they had over 20,000 complaints in 3 years , thats a BBB record. They have 3 lawsuits pending , in California , Washington , and Oregon. This does not include the silent suits. My goal is to get congress to open the NFL Sunday Ticket to cable companies , And all Satellite companies , At the top there is a Petition , my goal is to get 10,000 signatures then I'm sending the petition to congress.America needs competition , what if there was only 1 electrc company , gas company , Or auto maker? You Get the point , Thanks for your support!
