I don't know how old this post is, but the information is wrong. Fios charges a bunch for HD channels, they are NOT part of the basic packages. They are also in the habit, in my area anyway, of adding services (and charges) not requested, forcing the users to call them to make corrections on a regular basis.

Verizon fios has good service but their pricing is relentless. I just got a new DVR box 3 months ago, and forgot to send it back before they starting charing me regular prices, which I'm sure was an intention. My bill was $857 Dollars, because of all the series I had recording to the box. That is absolutely disgusting. All the series that were recorded, could easily be caught up on through my internet, which is also supplied by Verizon. What part of the game is this, trying to take money out of pocket, just for the hell of it.
