DIRECTV has recently decided to finally eliminate the Superfan option, meaning the channels and features contained in the package are moving to other areas. Most who already subscribe to Sunday Ticket will be happy to find out that HD broadcasts, the Red Zone channel, and the Game Mix channel will be included in the base package. The only ones who might like the news are those who like to watch Sunday Ticket online or on their cell phones. For these customers, additional charges will apply if they want the new NFL package add-on.
Instead of the Superfan package, the NFL Sunday Ticket To-Go option has been created. Prices at $9.99 a month, or $49.95 for the whole season this feature will keep you up to speed every Sunday with the latest NFL action no matter where you might be. So what is included with the NFL To Go option?
Sitting at home every Sunday is pretty difficult even for the most dedicated of fans. Guys can certainly attest to the fact that if you have a lady in your life, she probably isn’t going to endorse the potato couch lifestyle for four months straight. That is where NFL Sunday Ticket To Go comes into the picture. Basically, it gives you remote access to the games though either a computer or cell phone connection.
Watching the games on your cell phone probably isn’t the most enjoyable experience. But if you have to, the To Go add on allows you to watch games on any iPhone, Blackberry, or Android phone. You can also use the Palm Pre and other Windows Mobile devices. You do have to have specific Apps downloaded and ready to go in order to watch the games, so be sure those are in place if you want to watch games remotely in this manner.
A slightly better way to watch Sunday Ticket is through your computer. With the To Go feature you will be able to once again stream the games online through either a desktop or laptop with a high speed internet connection. Those living in Manhattan were able to buy the Sunday Ticket online package last season without a DIRECTV subscription, but nothing has been announced as far as making this a national program yet. The To Go add on package will cost $50 for the season on top of the regular Sunday Ticket price.
