DISH Network Customer Service – Contact Numbers and Help

Are you looking to reach DISH Network customer service?  Or maybe you are wondering about how DISH Network’s customer service department compares with competitors like DIRECTV and Xfinity.  In this article we will review a few of the resources available if you are needing help with your DISH Network service, and look at the recent customer service rankings for this large satellite TV company.

The main number to reach DISH Network customer service is as follows:  1-800-333-3474, or 1-800-333-DISH is a bit easier to remember.  There you will be prompted by one of the newer voice response units (VRU) where you can say what you need.  Simply say “technical support” or “billing” or whatever your issue might be, and the system will try to get you to the right place.  Another number listed on the DISH Network site for “new customers” is 1-800-823-4929.

Now many prefer to deal with their issue on the internet, and here are a few helpful links to get you support from DISH Network online.  The contact us page will allow you to start an online chat with customer service in three areas – DISH Network tech support, Telco accounts (if you bundle DISH Network with a local carrier), and regular customer service.  There you can also send an online e-mail to DISH Network if you are not in a hurry and can wait for a reply.

Now if you are having a problem with the audio or video on your DISH Network receiver, you probably want to try rebooting the unit before calling up for technical support.   Simply push the front power button and unplug the cord from the wall.  After restarting the unit it may take up to five minutes for the picture and sound to return to your TV.  If  this doesn’t fix your problem then its best to go ahead and initiate an online chat or call to Dish customer service.

So how is DISH Network doing as far as their customer service rating goes?  Last year’s American Customer Satisfaction Index (ASCI) survey had Dish at the top when it comes to measuring satellite and cable TV companies.  DISH Network scored a 71 on their rating system, while DIRECTV scored a 68.  Other notable companies in the survey were Cox cable (67), Xfinity/Comcast (61), Time Warner cable (61) and Charter cable (60).  While DISH Network mentions they have the top rating among cable and satellite TV companies, two telco TV companies did score better than DISH Network – Verizon FiOS with a 73 and AT&T U-verse with a 72.

Overall, the customer service score for DISH Network is an improvement over the past few surveys as DIRECTV has led the way.  But if a good customer service experience is high on your list, checking into the new telco TV options may be your best bet.
